What's Your Testimony Homey? My Journey Back

Ever been hang gliding? Majestic mountaintops and serene pillow top cloud formations. You want people to see your #journey. You want them to cheer you on and even experience part of the path with you. So, you #launch from a mountain top. It is a true gift to be soaring above the clouds with your eyes towards the heavens. That might suffice if you are hang gliding by yourself but it definitely DOES NOT work if you bring passengers. You are not just looking out for your own well-being, but theirs as well. You can’t expect people to see what you see. They are in a different position on the hang glider as well as not being in control. Your eyes are fixated towards the stars, viewing the pitfalls and the grandness of the flight ahead while your passengers are looking away because you never seem to realize the closer and closer that you get towards the ground. As you inch ever so near to the earth, your passengers are nimbly dodging random treetops and #obstructions in your #path.

This is an #analogy for a dreamer’s #selfishness. You are so busy enjoying the ride and company that you #ignore the dangers you have put yourself and your passengers in. It will not take them long to become #disillusioned with the process all together. And even though the #experience may be the best of your life, due to the #danger you put your passengers in, you may find yourself by yourself. This can lead to a flood of #emotions that can destroy a dreamer’s confidence. Feelings of #rejection, lack of #confidence, and even #depression can occur. Sometimes, we get lost and forget who we are. Overcoming such #loss can be achieved through physical exercise, surrounding yourself with #positive people, remembering your #accomplishments, and not giving up on your partner or your #dreams.

However, NONE of this is possible without hearing the voice of #GOD. Too often we are forced into prayer when things are going wrong, yet never remember to #exalt HIS name when things are going well. When times are lean and you feel as if you are on the last straw; prayer, true prayer will change your life. You must #submit to GOD and be specific in your prayers. We all believe GOD knows your heart, but he grants the wishes that you speak into the #universe. And it must be #sincere and consistent. A true #prayer life can #transform your entire life.

Pastor Tim Findley, Jr. of #Kingdom Fellowship Christian Life Center said that the theme for 2019 is “Launch Out Into The Deep”. The year 2018 was ”The Year of Transformation.” At the beginning of 2018, many people were unaware of the degree that their life was about to be transformed. #Transformation of one’s thoughts, habits and beliefs were needed in order to be ready to launch out into the deep. Many people had zero idea that they never moved past the shallows for all of these years simply because of #mindset. The deep reveals who you are and ONLY the most adept, humble and GOD fearing of fishermen can navigate its dangerous waters. The deep tests your bonds to your fellow fishermen and those closest to you. Not only could a bad trip cost you money, food, shelter, and #sanity but it could cost you your life if you are not completely focused on what GOD’S #grace and #mercy have in store for you in the deep waters.

When you launch out into the “deep”, you get a sense for who you truly are. You will realize you are a KING! #Descendant from the most steeped of #royal blood lines! Lost throughout time to your true platform yet never in search of your assignment. The world has no problem telling us what our place is, yet only GOD can reveal our #purpose to us. Remember who you ARE! Remember your purpose! There are so many #obstacles to walking in your #greatness #King. Yet, you MUST remember your former glory! Your #community depends on you. Your family depends on you. GOD needs you. Fulfill your purpose.

Full disclosure. I #suffer from depression. Or I did. Not really sure when or if it is completely gone. Don’t worry, I am receiving therapy. I am feeling much better. Why am I telling you this? I am telling you because someone may need to know. This information may save someone’s life. If someone like me, who for the most part could outwardly project that he has all of his stuff together and then privately #suffer and really be #toxic to everyone close to him, then depression can happen to anyone. For most people that know me, they don’t REALLY know me. And that is because they have never met the real me. You have to have known me for a VERY long time to know what I am capable of and what type of person I really am. However, due to #therapy and the love of my #family, I am back. Still finding my way all of the way back. Nevertheless, I am aware that most of you don’t know me.

Allow me to reintroduce myself. Hi, I’m Rekkai. Nice to make your acquaintance.

Swagger. Confidence. Mojo. Whatever you call it, protect it and don’t lose it. However, it is a #blessing to regain it, if it is missing. And only the #Lord can help you put any parts of your life back together. Regain your swagger. #Regain your voice. Rejoice in the Lord and let HIM direct your footsteps. It’s going to be alright. #GreaterIsComing.
